Cambridgeshire-based potato supplier Fenmarc today joined the nation in celebrating National Chip Week, by arranging for a fish and chip van to serve lunch for more than 100 of its employees. Fenmarc packs 115,000 tonnes of potatoes a year and knows only too well that the perfect chip starts with the perfect potato.
Jo Giggs, marketing executive at Fenmarc said: “As a nation we love chips, which is why National Chip Week continues to be a success year after year. As the Fenmarc team puts so much work into supplying quality potatoes it seemed only fitting that they got to celebrate with one of their most popular end products – a portion of great tasting chips.”
Fenmarc was established as a farming co-operative over 40 years ago by growers across East Anglia. The business is now privately owned and established as one of the leading fresh produce suppliers in the UK, employing over 400 colleagues across the country.
The range of products grown by Fenmarc includes Rudolph (www.rudolphpotatoes.com), Elizabeth and Belana potatoes, as well as carrots and parsnips. In Oct 2011 Fenmarc were named Employer of the Year at the Fenland Business Awards.
